JULY 2019
Hi Nirmala,
We all enjoyed Singapore and the girls especially loved it too. We did a lot more than when we were there last year. We wanted to show the girls what we enjoyed but also saw more than we expected. The malls were amazing and I feel that we only saw what was in Orchard but there were so many more malls to get lost in. The MRT was an excellent way to get around and we got that sussed pretty early on. We liked the 4 pass to the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Jurong Bird Park and the River Cruise. We went to the Gardens by the Bay which is always a highlight for us too. Three of us made it to the top of Marina Bay Sands and enjoyed some spectacular views. We went to the Sentosa Island and had a great time there on the luge, 4D movies and the butterfly park. We managed to get Darryl on the cable car (he has a healthy fear of heights). We all loved Chinatown and the food was great there as well as everywhere else. We spent a lot of time walking but luckily we are all pretty fit it didn’t worry us too much.
We melted a bit in the heat and we also didn’t realise it was school holidays for the month of June so more crowds at the attractions. We went to Malaysia for the day but spent an hour standing in a queue to get through immigration so won’t be doing that again any time soon. The bus trip back was pretty hectic too and we were all a bit grumpy but you can’t live your life with hindsight. The Treeptops Excutive Residence was mostly good apart from the TV hiccup the staff and facilities were great and it was in a convenient location. The other three didn’t like the breakfast buffet, I was the only one that liked it. We are back to the cold of NZ, staying home and saving up and thinking about where to next.
Thanks for all your help it was amazing.
All the best.
Kind regards
Alyson and Darryl
