Liz,

Our recent trip was mostly all good.  We liked the Centara Karon Resort Phuket and found good places to get reasonable meals outside the hotel as well as lots of fruit stalls where we were able to get lots of nice tropical fruits.  Centara Karon Resort Phuket also served the best breakfast!

The Bandara Resort & Spa, Samui was really nice and while there were many restaurants at Fisherman's Village, meals were generally more expensive than at Phuket and there were no fruit stalls.

The Grande Centre Point Hotel, Ratchadamri  was a very nice hotel and we particularly enjoyed using the hotel swimming pool as it was really hot in Bangkok.

There was just one snag.  Our transfer from Bandara Resort & Spa, Samui to the Koh Samui airport did not turn up! Fortunately the resort was able to rush us out to the airport and the transfer company agreed to reimburse them.  When we got to the airport we found the flight had been delayed by an hour so in fact we had plenty of time. On arrival at Bangkok they were there to meet us, full of apologies and they actually turned up early to take us to Bangkok Airport at the end.

AF Holidays arranged to meet us next day in the hotel foyer.  We got a message through the girl who met us at the Phuket airport and then the contact rang the driver who was taking us to the Phuket hotel and she confirmed that she would meet us the next day.  She was very helpful and had an envelope with contact details, a list of helpful hints for tourists in Thailand and some pamphlets for any trips we might want to arrange.  She was very pleasant, was able to give any advice and answer any questions we had.  We also got a message at the hotel two days before we left Phuket, reminding us of our pickup time.  The pickup arrived as arranged and took us to the Phuket airport for our onward flight to Koh Samui.
